2011 Porsche 911 Convertible — Come See It!

2011 Porsche 911 Convertible Personally, if I owned a car that was as cool as the 2011 Porsche 911 Convertible – I never would have brought it out in the snow, but it looks like autoblog.com did in fact catch the brand new 2011 Porsche 911 Convertible in the act.  With snow on its tires and everything and that is not a typical sight for a car of this beauty and awesomeness.

The brand new 2011 Porsche 911 Convertible is actually a car that should not be out right now but it is just being tested and will be released soon enough – eventually maybe.  Right now, we do not have a lot of specs on it but from the looks of it, the 2011 Porsche 911 Convertible looks awesome.

Personally, if I had enough money, this would definitely be the car that I would purchase, I mean just look at it!

Toyota’s 2011 Avalon — It’s A Little Lax…

Toyota's 2011 Avalon All right guys, what the heck is Toyota doing?  It’s like since they got burned by the recall, they are not coming out with cars that look almost like a Buick.  To me – Buicks are for the older crowd.

My grandma had one and really, I do not think that they should even come out with them anymore; however that seems to be where Toyota is moving onto with their less-than-inspiring Avalon.

To me – this is one car that kind of looks run of the mill.  Even though it is brand new, Toyota seems to be taking their cue from Buick … among other automakers.  Sorry Toyota, try again next time!

Snowy Roads + Driving = Hard!

best-new-cars-for-winter-drivingSo you are driving around in the wintertime and you have front-wheel drive and your rear wheels are skidding.  What do you do?  Personally – I freak out whenever this happens but I do have some neat tips and tricks that will absolutely assist you when you are dealing with rear wheel skidding in the snow.

First and foremost you want to take your foot off of the gas – steer the wheel in the direction you want the front wheels to go.  If your rear wheels are sliding left, steer left, if they are sliding right, steer right.  If your rear wheels start sliding the other way as you recover, ease the steering wheel toward that side. You might have to steer left and right a few times to get your vehicle completely under control.

Whenever you are dealing with snowy driving, you always want to make sure that you pump your brakes – this includes the time right here as well.  Rear wheel skidding is not the end of the world, but it can be scary.

distracted-drivingOne thing that is definitely becoming a concern in the driving world is distracted drivers.   In this day and age with all of the technology that is floating around – I can tell you for sure that there are many different devices that can distract you, as a driver.

Whether you are dealing with an iPod or an iPhone or even trying to text on the latest smartphone out there, I can tell you for sure that you are at risk.  That is why distraction.gov was designed – to educate you exactly how distracted driving can put you at risk.

Texting for example, this makes you 23 times more likely to get into a car accident than if you were just paying attention to the road.

Lambo Gallardo for Vanessa Rousso

I don’t know if you’re a poker fan like me, but I can’t get enough of the game. I’ve seen quite a few famous poker players drive some sick rides (Patrik Antonius drives an Aston Martin DB9, for example) – and earlier this month yet another poker star bought her dream vehicle -  a Lamborghini Gallardo.

Congratulations Vanessa Rousso – and be safe!

The Volkswagen Amarok Runs Amok

Volkswagen AmarokI am generally a huge fan of most of the vehicles Volkswagen comes out with, to the point that they could probably attach a board to a couple of skateboards and I would like it.

And from what I have seen so far, the Volkswagen Amarok is no exception. I really, really like this pickup, and I am not usually a fan of pickup trucks.

This is one of the very first official pictures of Volkswagen’s new pickup. It is the production version of VW’s original SAR — the Search and Rescue concept, which was revealed in Hanover last year.

It is designed to reflect VW’s design aesthetic, especially by way of the styling in front. The truck is going to be built in Buenos Aires, at VW’s South American Factory.

2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder

Recently, there has been a heck of a lot of talk about Porsche.  Whether it is the merge between Porsche and VW or it is just the cars in general – the news has been blowing up with this brand!  Now though, we are going to talk about the 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder because slowly but surely, this car has wormed its way into my heart and it is certainly a car that I would love to have!

While we are weeks away right now from the LA Auto Show, where this particular car is going to be unveiled, I have to say that the pictures that were just released are enough to tide me over … somewhat.  Pretty soon though, the pictures are going to wear off and I am going to need to see this car!

If you are like me – check out autoblog.com, they have a ton of different pictures of the 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder!

Volkswagen Car Insurance Pointers

There are many ways to get the most coverage with your Volkswagen car insurance at a great price. You just have to know what you are doing. One that to keep in mind is that despite the high costs of purchasing a vehicle made by Volkswagen, the insurance premiums are not extremely high when compared to other car makes and models. volkswagen beetle cabrioletThe reason for this is that the car insurance premium depends upon how well the car is built and is not based on initial purchase cost or value. Many assume that things are the other way around and therefore choose insurance policies with less coverage and that can be a problem if something should happen while driving.

There are many insurance companies that offer low cost coverage for cars made by Volkswagen. A big mistake that many drivers make is to under-insure a vehicle, but by comparing several quotes you will be able to get good, affordable coverage for your Volkswagen, regardless of the model. There are a few ways to go about obtaining insurance quotes from several companies. One way would be to talk directly to an insurance broker who will then do the work for you. Another way is to go to one of these great sites with auto quotes where you can just put in some basic information about your car and then you will receive several quotes. Finally, you can go to the individual insurance websites and ask for a quote directly.

There are even online only insurance policies available and these are generally always the cheapest and give you the most coverage for your money. However, this is only a possibility if you can live without some of the benefits of other policies, such as agents or offices to go to when you have an accident.

GM News: Rejected Dealers Can Apply For New Dealerships!

GM to let rejected dealers apply for new franchisesGM is back in the news and I have to say that while the bankruptcy issue is still news … GM is slowly but surely pulling themselves back out of the drain and they are making quite a few sales and changes.  One of the changes that they are doing is they are letting rejected dealers actually apply for new franchises.  That way, it can create more jobs for people all over the US.

To me, this is a fantastic, as GM is trying to not only pull themselves out of the drain but they are taking some of the closed down dealerships with them.  The move was actually was made because of the tens of thousands of jobs that were being lost due to the fact that these dealerships were closing.

While GM is going to be opening up several new stores all over the US – the dealerships that might be renewed are not being revealed just yet.

Honda Skydeck Concept

We have talked a heck of a lot about all sorts of different cars in this particular blog but I believe that one car that stands out above the rest is the Honda Skydeck Concept – this concept car is actually going to be a hybrid car that is going to be bigger than all of the rest … and it looks pretty damn cool as well.

Honda right now is working very, very hard on this particular concept car as they are trying to come up with an extra electric motor to place into this car so it can have two motors to make it run all that much better – they are also trying to make the Honda Skydeck Concept a completely electric car, which at this point, we have only seen mini-cars as all electric.

Honda is making a pretty cool concept … and they are certainly making headway on the Honda Skydeck Concept!
